Our Training Practices
Mountwood Surgery
We are a forward-thinking and innovative training practice in Northwood providing a team-based high quality patient-centred care to our 11,000 population. We have an established reputation in providing training future doctors and nurses spanning over 35 years. We also mentor and supervise a variety of other health care professionals. We currently have GP trainers, GPs tutors with Brunel University and another GP is our PCN Education Lead. Our modern spacious surgery is situated on the Mount Vernon Hospital site.
Glendale Medical Centre
We are a friendly small-medium size practice with 7000 patients right next to Heathrow Airport. We have a predominately working age population. We have a large immigrant patient population which lends to interesting clinical cases. We also care for asylum seekers staying in the various hotels near the airport. We have GP partners and a full complement of allied staff including nurses, HCA’s, physiotherapists and pharmacists and we work closely with our PCN to provide more services for our patients. We look forward to welcoming GP trainees!
The Abbotsbury Practice
We have been successfully training GP’s for over 30 years, many of them have stayed on with us as salaried GP’s and even partners. We are situated in a lovely part of North Hillingdon just behind Eastcote High Street. Our staff and patients really appreciate the contributions our trainees make to the practice and we try to make the learning environment as welcoming and fulfilling as possible. We even have a staff carpark!
Wood Lane Medical Centre
Wood Lane Medical Centre is a friendly and inviting practice, situated in the leafy suburbs of London with easy access by road or public transport. We have a comprehensive team of PCN ARRS staff who further support the care and management of our patients. We have a list size of approximately 11,200 patients and provide care to 2-3 local care/nursing homes. Wood Lane Medical Centre has been accredited as a Training Practice since 2021 and we are keen to share our knowledge and skills by supporting multiple training opportunities. These include: GP Trainees, medical students, Trainee Practice Nurses, HCA Care Certificate Course, work experience candidates - to name but a few. We hold regularly team meetings (clinical, admin, reception) to share learning and information and encourage all staff to provide feedback and ideas.
Cedarbrook Practice
We are a friendly practice working from a beautiful, modern, purpose built building in North Hayes. We have 10,500 patients with 40% BAME patients and two small pockets of deprivation in our practice area. The practice also has F2 placements, and medical students from Imperial. The practice is fast paced with excellent exposure to a wide variety of clinical medicine. There is high exposure to paediatrics, mental health and diabetes compared to other practices in Hillingdon.
Warren Practice
The Warren practice is a long standing and well-established training practice in Hayes. We have a high patient satisfaction rate, achieving nearly all QOF points and enhanced services targets. We are delivering high quality training and trainees will encounter a wide range of pathologies as we cover patients from different ethnic minorities. We have very high trainees’ exam pass rates. Nearly all our trainees who completed training in our practice requested to stay and work with us.
The Harefield Practice
We are a practice in the village of Harefield with a list of 9300. Harefield retains a village feel and we know our patients fairly well. Our population is much more deprived than the surrounding area with higher prevalence of smoking related illness. We look after three care homes. We have been a training practice for well over 30 years and place a strong emphasis on education. We also regularly have medical students in the practice. We like to think we are a friendly and fun practice to work in. We have weekly clinical meetings and quarterly educational evenings with food. The doctors all have special interests including dermatology, cardiology and gynaecology.
North Hyde Practice
North Hyde Practice is a practice situated in the south of Hillingdon. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to a diverse community. Our practice has a range of healthcare professionals including in-house pharmacists, First Contact physiotherapists, podiatry, and paramedics. As a training practice, we provide a supportive and welcoming environment for GP trainees and alongside GP trainees we host Imperial College medical students. A stable and experienced admin team really helps trainees and students enjoy their time at North Hyde Practice while also benefitting from excellent clinical exposure.
Central Uxbridge Surgery
Central Uxbridge Surgery is a GP practice based in the heart of Uxbridge town. It has a registered patient population of approximately 16500. The surgery had several trainers, Salaried GPs, and employs a number of allied health professional including advanced clinical practitioners, specialist nurses and healthcare assistants who are all supported by the practice management and administrative teams.
Eastbury Surgery
Eastbury Surgery has been training GP Registrars, Foundation doctors and medical students for many years. Previous trainees have become salaried GPs in our Practice. Our friendly and supportive team of clinicians and administrative staff look after the population of over eight thousand patients. We have diverse and elderly population and therefore, the placement provides great opportunities to hone and improve not only clinical but also consultation skills and a holistic approach.
