Safeguarding Training Tips
Safeguarding training should be arranged early in the year.
All resident doctors require certification of Level 3 child and adult safeguarding training every 3 years. In between this, a knowledge update for both child and adult safeguarding is required every 12 months.
A clinical case review reflection for knowledge for child and for adult is required in each training year. To make this easier for the panel to see, write safeguarding in the title and link it to the compliance passport.
In hospital, ask your placement in the hospital for training.
In a GP placement, your practice may also provide access to mandatory training modules via platforms such as Clarity TeamNet or Bluestream Academy.
We would advise doing a face-to-face course at least once. They only run a few times a year and get booked up quickly, so you need to plan ahead and book early. Practice Plus OOH requires face-to-face training if you work with them after CCT.
Remember, you can use your study leave budget to cover any associated costs.
